As a part of our showroom the tiled stoves museum displays the world's largest collection of historical tiled stoves. In addition to the favorite tiled stove of heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand, numerous colorful designs by art nouveau artist Michael Powolny are on display. Glamorous palace tiled stoves from the classicism period are juxtaposed with more modest designs from the interwar period, symbolizing the tiled stove as a reflection of the respective era. The result of this 500- year history of the ceramic manufactory illustrates the fascinating development of the tiled stove over the epochs of the last centuries.
The city of Steyr and the stove-making trade have always been closely linked. Our tiled stove museum is a member of the Upper Austrian Museum Association and is a cultural highlight of the region. You are welcome to visit our museum free of charge during regular opening hours.

Sommerhuber Holiday Information
Please note our company holiday from August 4, 2025, to August 14, 2025. During this time, both our company and our showroom will be closed.
In 1912, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne, commissioned the Sommerhuber company to reproduce this tiled stove in exact detail and restore it as a new edition for his Konopiště Palace near Prague.
The Ambras tiled stove by Sommerhuber can still be admired today in the so-called Tirpitzsalon at Konopiště Castle.
